Ceramic tiles are also very popular as countertop materials.  There are an endless variety of style options for ceramic tile and it is relatively inexpensive compared to natural stone.

Pros – cheap (unless you go custom), easy to install, easy to clean, range of style options

Cons – not as hard as other materials so it can chip and crack and some people don’t like the looks of the uneven surface.
